Most of the population on the earth believes in having non-vegetarian foods. But gradually the literate segments of the societies in the developed countries have adopted vegetarian foods for various medical reasons. Even scientists and medical professionals strongly believe that vegetarian foods are far better as compared to non-vegetarian preparations due to its nutritious values and healthy properties.
The term vegetarian widely defines the food items that do not contain any meats, fish or poultry preparations. Vegetarian foods are exclusively based on the available plants, fruits and vegetables, however, many vegetarians do include dairy products and eggs in their diet. Such kind of diet is however, often termed as the lacto-ovo-vegetarian whereas the vegetarians who usually discard all the animal food preparations from their diet are called vegans.
Basically three major reasons have led more and more people towards the vegetarian diets. They are: hatred to the animal slaughter – though this logic is not well-matched with the consumption of dairy products or eggs as the productions of such foods certainly involves the slaughter of calves, cows and chicks. The other important reason of turning vegetarian is far more efficient land use as the hectare of good farmland can easily produce plenty of plant foods as compared to the animal foods. And finally, the health is the prime reason as most of the meat consumed in the Western societies is rich in saturated fat which in turn increases cholesterol levels in the blood leading to the developed risks of ischaemic heart diseases.

Ever since the inventions of organized foods, the man has been striving to make reformations or modifications in his eating styles and eating substances. The people all over the world strongly believe in systematic eating habits and precisely try to add more and more food derivatives. So far the recipes are concerned; people develop newer recipes according to their individual tastes and requirements.
One such newer style adopted by the mankind is termed as appetizers. The appetite is the terms which means the desire for eating or hunger, and according to this, an appetizer is the substance or eatable that develops hunger before the main meal is initiated.
Any smaller bite-sized food item that is served before the meal to stimulate and motivate the palate could be termed as the appetizers. The term appetizer is synonymously used with the term hors d’oeuvre – the term typically defines the finger foods, whereas the appetizer is also applied for the first course served at the dinning table.
Appetizers can be of any kind in solid food forms or even some liquid forms. According to the eaters’ choice, the appetizers could be made in both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian preparations. Some people really love having liquid appetizers made by using certain ingredients that literally trigger the appetite. In normal cases, the appetizers are served much earlier before the main course meals.

Dessert is the course of eatable that usually comes at the end of the main meals which often comprises of sweet food but sometimes of the strongly-flavored one like cheeses. The term ‘Dessert’ is believed to have been derived from the old French word ‘desservir’ which means to clear the dining table. Some of the most commonly used desserts include cakes, cookies, fruits and candies.
The term dessert is most widely used for such course in the United States, Canada, Australia and Ireland, while sweet, pudding or afters are the more specifically used terms in the United Kingdoms as well as several other commonwealth countries. Debrett states that pudding is the appropriate word; however, the term dessert should only be used if the course comprises of fruits and sweets as per the colloquial language.
The system of eating fruits and nuts after eating the main meals may be very old, the dessert is the standard part of the Western meal and is probably recent development anyway. Some cultures do not believe in the separate final sweet dish course but combine the sweets and savory dishes with their main meal, like in the Chinese or Indian dishes, or reserve elaborate dessert potions for special occasions.
Often the dessert is found as the separate meal or snack rather than including it in the main meals. There are certain restaurants that specialize in desserts. However, in the colloquial American language, the term dessert has some wider meaning and may refer to anything in sweet that would follow the main meals like milkshakes or other beverages.

Healthy cooking does not mean that one has to turn the connoisseur chef or invest for the expensive cookware. s You are required to simply use the basic cooking techniques and clues of preparing delicious foods in the healthy way. The main object of healthy cooking is maintaining the flavor and retaining the nutrient values of the food without using excessive oils, butter, sugar or salts. Once you have mastered such techniques, you can easily use them for preparing different recipes of your own choice.
Cooking is an art and has to be developed individually. One can easily make his or her favorite recipes healthier by substituting the ingredients for cutting down on the contents of fat especially for saturate fat. With these negligible alterations, you and your family would hardly feel the difference in its taste anyway. When cutting back on sodium, fat and cholesterol, how you cook is equally important as what you cook. People having heart
problems and their family are not willing to give up their taste or the food they really love.
The first target for many people having heart problems is reducing the amount of salt they consume. This is generally rather significant than controlling saturated fat and cholesterol consumption. If you normally add salt while cooking, simply put away the salt shaker. Avoid seasoning meats and vegetables with prepackaged mixes that can mostly have excess salt. Avert deep or shallow frying of foods in oil as it adds unwanted fat and calories. Instead, you may try some other healthier techniques of cooking foods.
